The Collaborate Board and team is delighted to announce that Rebecca Murphy will be the new Chief Executive of Collaborate CIC from September 2024.
Rebecca has an outstanding record of leading change across the public sector, including local government, health and care integration and policing. She is committed to a strengths-based approach with seven years’ experience of collaborating with communities and partners in Wigan. This included leading the development of the Healthier Wigan Partnership Experience to embed the behaviours that underpin the Wigan Deal across the system. She also spent five years in a senior change role at Greater Manchester Police and nine years at the LGA working on sector led improvement. Most recently Rebecca has been leading the design and delivery of leadership programmes at the LGA.
Rebecca is passionate about transforming public services with a strong focus on co-production and collaboration between public sector organisations and the communities they serve. Her experience of delivering change on the ground will be hugely beneficial to Collaborate and our partners.
Lord Victor Adebowale CBE, Collaborate’s founder and Chair, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Rebecca to the Collaborate team. Her experience and passion for collaboration and public service reform shone through a thorough recruitment process and a very high-quality field. There are great opportunities to drive change in public services ahead, and I am looking forward to working alongside her as she leads Collaborate into its next phase.”
Rebecca said:
“I have always championed collaboration in public services and across my career I have worked in areas that seek to make a positive impact on people’s lives and to redistribute power more fairly across systems and communities.
“I am excited to take over Collaborate CIC at such a promising moment for public services, overseeing its continued growth and the expansion of the wider Collaborate movement for change, working with our committed board and skilled team.”
Rebecca will start her role on 16th September, taking over from our current CEO Anna Randle through a smooth transition, and will be sharing her thoughts about the opportunities she sees ahead in early September.
Welcome Rebecca!
