What we do

We support organisations to fulfil their potential as place leaders and system stewards. We understand that improving outcomes for communities requires place-based collaboration across all sectors.

We can help you strengthen partnerships and teams based on collaborative foundations, like a shared vision, strong relationships, collaborative behaviours and understanding the means for collaborative action.

Local government reorganisation (LGR) offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to transform what councils do, how they do it and who benefits.

We can help you make the most of the opportunity to not only do the same things slightly better, or slightly differently, but to do better things. To help build councils that are closer to communities, more effective and financially sustainable.

Tackling the most pressing challenges we face in systems and organisations requires collaborative leadership — people who can look up and out beyond their own roles to mobilise change across systems.

Our leadership programmes and facilitation help you to navigate through this complexity and see what you can do – with others– to start to make a difference.

We support commissioners to step into their roles as enablers for social change.

We support teams, organisations and partnerships to develop their own test and learn approaches to create better outcomes for people and places.

If we want our communities to thrive, we need to put their strengths and needs at the heart of what we do, building alliances between organisations and systems around those needs to work together to trial and learn from possible solutions.

This is a Human Learning Systems (HLS) approach, and as co-founders of the HLS movement, we’re helping individuals and organisations use this approach to increase their impact more quickly and more deeply.

Collaborate is partnering with Dartington Service Design Lab, and the Ideas Alliance CIC to help local authority, health and community partnerships co-create and deliver impactful Best Start in Life strategies and Best Start Family Hubs.
