Onika’s professional journey is deeply rooted in community engagement, where she has
been actively involved in grassroots initiatives across diverse communities. In her role at
Collaborate as a Project Design & Engagement Manager, Onika brings a commitment for
community-based approaches and cross-collaborative solutions that challenge systemic
inequities.

Having previously worked in both the public and voluntary sectors, Onika recognises the significance of creating a shared vision and places strong emphasis on co-production and continual adaptation.

Her experience shines through in projects aimed at generating long-term health and wellbeing benefits often embracing holistic frameworks that deviate from traditional practice models.

Onika’s lived experience has instilled in her belief that there is no singular ‘right way’ to reach a destination, a philosophy that shapes her work as she approaches it with a mindset of continuous inquiry.

In their own words:

I am an advocate for constant self-development, and I am passionate about dismantling barriers that give rise to limiting beliefs, preventing individuals from realising their full potential. I am committed to continuous learning, actively seeking new perspectives and insights to enrich my understanding and ability to do this work. My dedication to creating positive change aligns with the Collaborate vision of a collaborative society: equitable, caring and sustainable.

I am an enthusiastic, solution-focused individual that believes to dismantle long-standing inequities and repair historical injustices we must prioritise better outcomes for those most marginalised within society.
